Clutter clear kitchens for cooking joy

Even if you have spent a lot of time and money on the decor of your kitchen, it will not be a pleasant environment in which to cook if it is cluttered or used for more tasks other than just cooking. De-clutter your kitchen to decrease the chore and restore the joy of preparing food at home.

It may be tempting to display an array of designer work top appliances you own across your numerous kitchen surfaces but clear surfaces make a kitchen look cleaner (and therefore more hygienic) and are practical for purposes of cooking since large working space is always readily available.

Store the majority of appliances like food mixers, Panini toasters and coffee machines away, perhaps leaving just one of your very favourites on display.

If you have the choice (or in fact, the room) try to keep laundry appliances like washing machines and tumble dryers out of the kitchen. Inevitably, clothes end up loitering in the kitchen, which is neither convenient or a fashionable look. If you lack the space for a separate laundry room, you may wish to invest in an integrated washing machine and dryer, which are seamlessly built and hidden away into the rest of your kitchen unit. Other appliances like dishwashers and fridges can also be integrated.

Dining tables are obviously great for family meal times and social events but it may be worth getting hold of easily collapsible ones if you lack a separate dining room and it is a tight squeeze with them constantly present in your kitchen.

Anything that shouldn't typically be stored in the kitchen should be stored elsewhere. When members of my big family enter our home, their first stop is almost always the kitchen for drinks and refreshments and as such, shoes, school bags, coats and even my brother motorcycle helmet get dumped within the kitchens confines.
